HEART BEAT CLUB FIRST AID COURSE

First Aid has never been more important.  Heart Beat Club  'The aim of Heartbeat Club is to develop the life saving skill of resusciation and first aid in our community. The Heart Beat Club is a community education initiative of Royal Life Saving that aims to imcrease your skills and confidence in CPR and First Aid. The Heart Beat Club can teach you life saving skills of CPR. Your training session runs for 3 hours and covers First Aid for common childhood injuries including burns and scolds, choking, drowning and provides information on how to perform child resuscitation or CPR.' This course will be half price for Marilla members at just $10pp.  You must be a member to attend this course. If you are not a member please join now for $20 a year non Defence and just $10 for defence and their families.  All tickets are non-refundable.

New 2018 Pregnancy Mums and Bubs

This group aims to support pregnant women and newborns (up to 12 months). Its an informal meet up where you get to chat to other mums and get/share advice and information in regards to your pregnancy and experiences.  It is going to be run by our members one of which is a qualified midwife. Each week will have a different topic of discussion.  This week we will be running a first aid course cost $10 for Marilla members.    Come along for a coffee and a chat.  This group runs outdoors so ensure you wear appropriate clothing for the day.  Please bring a small snack to share (not compulsary) To join Marilla please visit our website and click 'memberships' and 'new'

Welcome to our 2018 weekly playgroup!  Every Wednesday (term time only) 9:30-11:30 am Marilla runs an educational and fun playgroup with a new theme every term. Our new theme this term is Dr Seuss! Story time is going to be great! We have lots of craft and activities to suit all preschool children (pre-school only).  The session also includes story time/song time and lots of free play.   Come and join in the fun and meet new friends.  Cost: Gold coin donation All children to bring a piece of fruit to share *Remember to bring a hat and a bottle of water for your child/children.  This event is outdoors so ensure you and your children are dressed for the weather.  To attend you must be a member, you can do this online by going to our website www.marillacommunitycentre.com and clicking 'memberships' or you can complete a paper membership form on the day. 1st session is a trial and a membership will be required by session 2.  Cost of membership is: $20 per year (non-defence members) $10 per year (defence members)

We have set up a group for all school aged children to come and meet every week. Every Tuesday at 3:30pm Marilla will provide a place for children aged 5 and above to come together with other school aged children and their families.  There will be a space for homework, a space for reading and also an age approprite activity for the day. Our Coordinator Maria will be there to support children with any homework or reading while the parents/guardians can catch up and have a coffee. There will be Maths and English workbooks, creative art work, free play and a story for those who want to listen.  Please feel free to bring your childrens reading books from school and/or a favorite story book to be read on the day.  Afternoon tea will be provided. Healthy snacks to keep those little minds working.  A semi structured programme to engage young minds.  *Younger siblings are also welcome to attend however the activities may not be suitable for those ages and parents supervision is required.  All children will be the responsibilty of the parent/guardian who must remain at the centre during the session.  This session will be run outdoors so ensure your children are dressed for the weather.  Please choose the ticket option if you are attending, this is a free event. If you are currently not a member, you can attend the first session and then complete a membership application on the day or visit our 'memberships' option and join online. DONT FORGET TO WEAR YOUR BONNETS AND BRING A SMALL BASKET FOR YOUR EGGS.  SEE YOU ALL IN THE MORNING!   Marilla's 2018 Easter Egg Hunt is on!!  Bring your baskets and come down to this FREE event. Starts 10am. There will be an easter activities A COLOURING COMPETITION plus a free Easter Egg Hunt.  We will also be having an Easter bonnet parade with prizes for the best hat! Booking is essential. Please make sure your children are dressed for the weather as this event is outdoors.  There will be a raffle on the day for some great Easter Hampers so bring some loose change to be in with a chance to win. MyTime groups provide support for mothers, fathers, grandparents and anyone caring for a child with a disability or chronic medical condition. It’s a place for you to unwind and talk about your experiences. It’s a world away from appointments and therapy. It’s support for you. Because you're worth it! My Time are looking for new members, it is free to attend/join, just turn up on the day and Claire will be there to help you.   Please share this information with anyone you believe will benefit from these sessions.  There is a children's play coordinator on site to help with your children while you relax and connect with people who understand.  It is not essential that children attend, the sessions are for you to relax and unwind You do not have to be a Marilla member to attend these sessions.  Every Thursday 9:30am -11:30am (Term time only) Based in the Rockingham Navy Club.  *Winners will be randomly selected at the end of term 3

NEW FOR 2018... It is only 30 minutes long, but you will train hard the entire time. It is suitable for every fitness level because you can vary the exercise intensity up or down.  Bring $7, a towel and plenty of water to drink. You will use your towel or a fitness mat during the session as you will be required to sit, kneel or place your hands on the ground. Suitable for men and women aged 18-65.   Marilla fitness sessions are run by the lovely Kirsten from InFituation and are a child friendly fitness group that runs every Monday morning at 9.30 am from the Rockingham Naval Club (at the rear of the building).  No online ticket just come along and pay on the day!  If having to pay childcare costs or not having any childcare has put you off exercising in the past, this is for you! If you are ready to make that leap into getting back into shape then come and join our group.
